On Thursday, March 5th the Substance Addiction Ministry (SAM) at St. Angela Merici Catholic Church will be hosting a Community Forum and Resource Fair on Addiction in the School Gym, 2101 Pomona St. Metairie, La.
This annual event is a once-a-year opportunity to acquire information and get answers to questions about addiction, discover the various resources that are available in this area, investigate counseling opportunities, talk to an interventionist, or have a conversation with a mental health professional; all in one place, under one roof. This forum and resource fair has become an annual event and is the 8th one of its kind since 2017. This event if for those who suffer from an addiction, as well as for the affected family members, giving everyone an opportunity to hear a doctor of addiction medicine educate us about this disease, how it affects the brain, how it is treated, and the effect it has on the whole family, and what we can do to begin recovery.
The evening will begin with doors opening at 5:30pm. Dan Lynch, DO, a doctor of addiction medicine, will offer his presentation, “Roads to Recovery” beginning at 6pm.
An open mic Q&A will follow; food and refreshments will be provided compliments of NOLA Detox and Copelands. Door prizes will be drawn as well. The forum is FREE and open to the public.
