For the first time, a replica of the original image of Divine Mercy – a portrait crafted through the vision and instruction of St. Faustina Kowalska – will make an appearance in the Archdiocese of New Orleans as part of a U.S. tour of both the image and a sacred music concert by a young-adult choir from Vilnius, Lithuania. The concert features the choir from the Shrine of Divine Mercy in Vilnius, Lithuania where the Original Image of the Divine Mercy is located. The 2-hour concert will feature a multimedia presentation explaining the significance and amazing history of the Original Image of Divine Mercy. Then, before a full-size, exact replica of the original masterpiece The Divine Mercy Choir will give a concert of the medieval sacred music that was flourishing in Eastern Europe during the days of St. Faustina. The Choir was formed in the ancient city of Vilnius to provide liturgical music in the Shrine of Divine Mercy. First Class relics of St. Faustina and Blessed Michael Sopocko, the Spiritual Director of St. Fasustina, will be available for veneration.
