Dear Family of God, Greetings and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
My home diocese, the Diocese of Obuasi in Ghana, West Africa, has a partnership with the Archdiocese of New Orleans. My name is Fr. Francis Sarpong, and I come from the southern part of Ghana. I was ordained to the priesthood on July 28, 2006.
On October 3, 2025, I arrived in the Archdiocese of New Orleans to begin my priestly ministry here for a period of time. My first assignment was at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Destrehan, where I served as a Parochial Vicar for almost eight months.
I have now been assigned to Divine Mercy Parish in Kenner so that I may continue to gain broader parish experience within the Archdiocese, as requested by Archbishop Checchio.
I am grateful to God for this opportunity to serve among you. I look forward to praying, worshiping, and growing in faith together as one family in Christ.
